Summer is coming! Who want some cool refreshments? Me! And my gangs at home! And you, too!
The creamy coconut-avocado smoothies can sometimes be considered as a meal because it already provides a good amount of energy and keeps you full long enough to the next meal. For the tropical trios, it can only keep you full for a short time so it is not recommended as meal replacement. I don’t know what to say more so let’s just head to the recipe.
Coconut-avocado
Ingredients: (for 1 serving)
- Avocado: 1 whole avocado
- Coconut water: 1/2 cup
- Milk (whole milk, reduced-fat milk, coconut milk…) to taste
- Condensed milk/sweetener (for vegan friends) to taste
- Ice to taste
- Top with shredded coconut (optional)
Preparation:
- Avocado cut in half, remove the seed, peel and cut into small pieces.
- Add the cut avocado, coconut water, ice, milk and sweetener to a blender and blend still smooth. I added 2 tablespoons of condensed milk, 1/2 cup of whole milk, 4 ice cubes, my smoothie was creamy and slightly sweet to my taste. If you are vegan, coconut milk and/or coconut creamer are good alternatives.
- Pour into (fancy) glass, top with some shredded coconut and enjoy!

Tropical trios
Ingredients: (for 3 servings)
- Honey mango: 2 mangoes
- Pineapple: 1/4 of whole pineapple
- Strawberry: 6 – 8 strawberries
- Mango juice to taste (optional, if you want more fluid in your smoothie)
- Ice to taste
(I used 1 cup of ice and 1.5 cups of mango juice)
Preparation:
- Peel and cut the mangoes and pineapple into bite-size pieces; strawberries wash and cut off the head.
- Add all the fruits and ice to a blender and blend still smooth. Mango juice can be adjusted to taste. The sweetness of honey mango and mango juice would help balance the strawberries and pineapple.
- Pour into (fancy) glasses and enjoy!
And that is it! Hope you enjoy this short one (and make yourself some)!
