Have been in the US for few years but this year’s Thanksgiving is by far the most meaningful to me. I’ve always been grateful for what I have in life, but I never actually celebrated that. Until now…
We celebrated Thanksgiving privately. A non-traditional one, a.k.a. no turkeys. We cooked dishes that we were craving for: some homemade spicy beef noodle soup, some seafood boil and he made me brownie from scratch. It might seem so “ordinary” but from the fact that he barely baked anything from scratch (just from premix box), I considered this as an impressive effort. And I was moved by that.

Hey dear…
I’m grateful for having you in my life. All the hurts we’ve been through finally paid off.
I’m grateful that despite all of the hardships, you still grew up to be strong, smart, independent, thoughtful, considerate and full of responsibilities.
I’m happy for you. And I’m happy for both of us.
